{{ variable.name }}
Venusaur is inspired by a combination of a toad and a giant flower, such as the Rafflesia. Its name combines "Venus flytrap" and "saurus" (lizard), reflecting its carnivorous plant and reptilian traits. It is characterized by a massive flower on its back, which emits a soothing fragrance and absorbs sunlight for energy.
Obtaining Venusaur in BDSP
In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Venusaur is not found in the wild. It is obtained by evolving Ivysaur, which itself evolves from Bulbasaur (one of the starter Pokémon chosen at the beginning of the game). Trainers must raise Bulbasaur to level 16 to evolve it into Ivysaur, then further to level 32 to obtain Venusaur.
