Palkia is the mascot Pokémon of Pokémon Pearl and its remake (BDSP). It is revered as the deity controlling space and is said to dwell in a parallel dimension. According to Sinnoh mythology, Palkia created the concept of space itself and maintains the stability of dimensions. It often clashes with Dialga, the deity of time.

In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Palkia can be encountered as a story-locked Legendary Pokémon during the main campaign:

Spear Pillar: After defeating Team Galactic’s leader Cyrus at the Spear Pillar, Palkia will appear. Approach it to initiate a battle.

Weaknesses: Palkia is vulnerable to Electric, Grass, Dragon, and Fairy-type moves. Use Pokémon like Raikou, Venusaur, or Sylveon to exploit these weaknesses.

Palkia excels as a powerful special attacker in BDSP, leveraging its high Special Attack and moves like Hydro Pump and Draco Meteor. Its Water/Dragon typing provides unique resistances, but its weaknesses to Electric and Fairy-type moves require strategic team support. The ability Pressure further enhances its utility by depleting opponents’ PP.
